ICAC Task Force Officer Trains Others

Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force Officer, Sgt. Rodney Thompson has been busy over the past 90 days.  During the period, Thompson, - a member of the Blue Ridge Thunder unit - has trained over 175 law enforcement officer, recruits, parents and teachers, during sessions conducted at venues such as the New River Valley Criminal Justice Academy, the Benjamin Franklin Middle School, in Franklin County, the Central Virginia Criminal Justice Academy, and – most recently –at the Fieldale-Collinsville Middle School, in Henry County.

(Child - Sexual Offender Registration and Tracking) is designed to 'turn up the heat on' and 'hold accountable' sexual predators and other sex offenders who may reside in Bedford County, with a special emphasis placed upon those offenders who either have targeted juveniles as their victims or may target juveniles as their victims.
